Interesting question. When I was younger and naive I thought "Wow. What a cool job!" Obviously as a male, I am ill equipped to determine the physical requirements for the female actors, but it is not outside of the realm of speculation for me to imagine what male actors go through.
First of all, unless you are in possession of some abnormal anatomical feature like John Holmes or Ron Jeremy, you are just a prop. The primary audience for porn flicks are men, and they aren’t looking at the male actors. Worse, your job is to get hard, stay hard, in uncomfortable positions, while being filmed, under temperature extremes, with frequent stops to change camera angles, readjust makeup, and follow the director’s orders. Then you have to ejaculate practically on command, and not in the way most of us handle it...buried in our lover. You have to do it standing up, after sex, but during a blowjob. Sex on porn flicks isn’t real sex. It’s...uh...well...I’m not sure what it is.
That sounds like the worst fucking job on the planet. Yeah, you get to hang out with beautiful girls, but a turn on? I doubt it. Unless those guys have more brain in their dick than their heads, when they get off from work they go looking for some cute little brunette with real breasts who wants to be cuddled, enfolded, and wrapped around. Then they sink into a soft mattress in the dark, pull the covers over themselves and their honey, and enjoy quiet sweet love making in the missionary position.
As an erotic fiction writer, I also find most porn flicks to be of the PWOP (Porn WithOut Plot) variety. Playboy figured out they needed plot on the television channel years ago and started making shows that had sex, but had a story as well. The acting wasn’t incredible, but it wasn’t bad either. Porn without plot is like sex without foreplay. You can do it, but its not as fun.

ReplyDeleteWhy is it insane and sinful? Last time I checked the ten commandments "Thou shall not perform in porn flicks" wasn't included. Sure, there was something about adultery, but are many porn stars married? I think not. Church teachings encourage monogamy, but that was a cultural inheritance (a wise one if you ask me) intended to reduce the medical consequences of frequent polygamous relationships. Don't confuse church teachings with scripture. Where in the Bible does it say that having sex is a bad thing? Even prostitution isn't technically given a bad rap in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing here is the question of whether God intended mankind to ENJOY sex. I think he did, which makes him very smart. We are sexual beings in nature - and we do what the Lord intended us to do.
